Statement
Virginia affirms that artists do not invent art; rather, art is the force that reaches us and, in doing so, invents the artist. Her trajectory began in 2009 with works created through the technique of dripping, such as Harmonizing Chaos, Springs, Universe, and Infinity. These early pieces marked the beginning of a profound exploration that would shape an ever-expanding creative universe.
Soon after, psychic automatism became central to her practice—a journey through unknown territories where time and space dissolve. From this process emerged a body of work that captured the experience of brushing against the intangible, confirming that the creative force guided her beyond intention or control.
Subsequently, she developed a body of work with a strong surrealist influence, organic and vibrant, charged with symbolism. Through color and form she gave shape to abstract concepts such as fertility, balance, joy, discernment, and happiness, translating complex emotions into vivid imagery.
In parallel, she returned to charcoal drawing on paper, once again employing automatism to trace sensory journeys. Her compositions, organic and voluptuous, position art as an extension of the human body: a force that traverses it, amplifies it, and connects it to the vital. The biological contours of her work reaffirm her vision of life as an interconnected system.
Digital art has expanded her expressive tools without compromising her essence. For Virginia, the medium does not define the authenticity of creation. The digital realm offers agility, new visual languages, and technical possibilities, yet it never replaces the tactile connection with traditional materials: it unfolds in parallel. With fluency, she moves between screen and canvas, allowing her work to engage with contemporary forms while remaining anchored in its essence.
Her practice invites the viewer not merely to contemplate, but to recognize themselves, to feel and perceive—as she does—an expandable universe. While her career encompasses series, each work is a new territory: an embodied emotion, a vision emerging from the unexplored. It is a creative force that draws a shared language. By surrendering fully to inspiration without questioning it, she opens a space for what is not yet defined or revealed, as though each work carries a message seeking to become visible.
Improvisation is essential to her practice. She approaches each piece without preconceived ideas, trusting in the clarity with which creative impulses arise. Her use of color is intuitive and unrestrained, turning each work into a perceptual experience—at once individual and collective, intimate and universal.
Throughout her journey, Virginia reaffirms that art is not a personal invention but a greater pulse, manifesting through artists, reaching them, inhabiting them, and ultimately inventing them.
