About Series: 'Unveiling the Ether'

In 'Unveiling the Ether', Virginia Casado articulates a visual language that intersects the biological, the emotional, and the ethereal. Rather than depicting nature literally, the series constructs a symbolic ecosystem where each form arises from an internal decoding process — a subtle vibration that the artist captures and translates into organic, resonant structures.

These entities evoke hybrid organisms — somewhere between vegetal, sensory bodies and energetic beings  that seem to belong to a parallel dimension, yet align seamlessly with the logic of our natural world. If such beings were to inhabit material reality, they would do so without dissonance, embodying a deep understanding that all life shares a common, interconnected origin. Casado’s work doesn’t propose fantasy; it expands perception.

In one of the central pieces, a figure stands vertically aligned, simultaneously rooted below, mentally expanded above, and illuminated at the heart center  a vivid yellow that becomes the core from which exaggerated ears emerge. This anatomical configuration suggests a heightened auditory sensitivity, while surrounding entities hold flames, symbolizing an alchemical ability to transmute and balance energy. The piece becomes a reflection of hypersensitivity as both a gift and a threshold.

Other works within the series deepen this exploration. In The Source of Life, for instance, a cloud holds fish instead of birds  a symbolic displacement of marine life into the sky, reimagining the ocean as an airborne cycle. This poetic gesture reinforces a worldview in which physical states shift, yet the biological essence remains constant. Matter transforms, but the being remains.

Through these works, Virginia Casado doesn’t simply illustrate the invisible — she amplifies our capacity to perceive it. In doing so, she unveils the ether: not as an abstract concept, but as a tangible, sensitive field  one that invites us to see beyond the material limits of the world, into the continuity that connects all life forms across visible and invisible dimensions.
